Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced BI Designer to join our team on a 6-month contract for a major public sector client. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and delivering advanced business intelligence solutions, with a strong focus on data visualization dashboards using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. This role requires someone who can translate complex data into intuitive, insightful, and visually compelling dashboards for decision-making at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize Power BI dashboards and reports for business stakeholders.
Leverage Microsoft Fabric to build scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions.
Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure data quality and integrity.
Transform raw data into actionable insights through compelling visualisation and storytelling techniques.
Implement best practices for data modeling, performance tuning, and security in BI solutions.
Work closely with business users to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet objectives.
Stay current with emerging Power BI and Microsoft Fabric features and recommend enhancements.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven expertise in Power BI, including advanced DAX, data modeling, and report optimisation.
Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouses, Dataflows, and integration capabilities.
Demonstrable ability to design high-quality visualisation dashboards for senior stakeholders.
Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in public sector environments.
Hands-on experience in performance tuning of BI solutions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
