Olive Jar Digital are looking for a proactive Finance & Payroll Manager to take ownership of payroll and billing operations, while supporting the wider finance function in a growing business.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in keeping our financial operations running smoothly from payroll and invoicing through to supporting month-end and maintaining strong financial controls.
You’ll be working closely with teams across the business, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a great internal experience.

What you’ll be doing
Own payroll end-to-end
- Manage the full UK payroll process, ensuring everything runs accurately and on time
- Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements, pensions, and statutory payments
- Maintain payroll journals, reconciliations, and support year-end processes
- Oversee client invoicing and supplier billing
- Monitor incoming payments and resolve any queries quickly
- Process supplier payments to support healthy cash flow
- Use accounting systems to support day-to-day finance operations
- Keep accurate records, audit trails, and documentation
- Ensure high standards of accuracy and data integrity
- Assist with month-end activities across payroll, revenue, and billing
- Work with internal stakeholders to keep processes running smoothly
- Contribute to reporting and meaningful management information
What we’re looking for
- Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
- Strong experience across payroll, billing, and finance operations
- Good understanding of UK payroll, HMRC, pensions, and compliance
- Comfortable working in a hands-on role within an SME environment
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Experience with Xero
- Familiarity with Monday.com
